I used to have a blog a couple of years ago where I mainly talked about books. But, I shut it down because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep writing it. I dabbled with YouTube and I ended up starting a podcast. The podcast has been the longest thing I’ve stuck with. Apparently, many podcasts stop before their 10th episode and I celebrated reaching my 50th episode this year so I’m pretty proud of this.
I want to say a big thank you to you for subscribing to this newsletter, listening to the podcast and supporting my creative projects. It wouldn’t be the same without your support.
This is going to be my last newsletter for the year. I also shared the last episode of my podcast for the year. It’s about what I’ve learnt from creating content on multiple platforms this year. There’s often the question of whether to start a blog, podcast or YouTube channel. I talk a little about what made me choose the platforms that I create on. You can listen on your favourite podcast app here or on Spotify below.
I’m currently planning the podcast content for next year and planning to do more career-focused content. If you have any suggestions for guests or topics, please comment below.
What I’ve enjoyed recently
I just discovered a podcast called By the Book recently. It is a podcast where the two hosts live by a new self-help book for two weeks and share the results. I enjoy listening to this because self-help books are very popular but I often wonder if the advice they share works.
The podcast has been running for a number of years and I’ve enjoyed going through their back catalogue of episodes and listening to them. I recommend their episode called America’s Cheapest Family Gets You Right on the Money where they follow the advice of two financial gurus to see if it makes their financial lives better.
Even the Rich is one of my favourite podcasts and it’s a show where the hosts dive into the history of wealthy and famous families. They are currently doing a 4-part series on Whitney Houston and I love Whitney Houston. Their show helps you see that wealthy people are more than who we see in the news.
I’m currently reading Young Jane Young by Gabrielle Zevin. It’s a story about a 20-year-old intern who’s having an affair with an older congressman. The story of their affair leaks and the congressman continues to progress in his career while the intern is slut-shamed. She moves away and reinvents her life and the story follows this. The novel explores slut-shaming and reminds me of the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandal. Although it tackles difficult themes, it’s quite easy to read.
I’ve been watching From Scratch on Netflix and I’m hoping that I’m able to watch more TV over Christmas.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year full of love and laughter.
Till next time,
